I had painted a few small sunset paintings and felt ready to do a much larger canvas when I did this. The sea took a lot of time and patience. Painted from 8th September to 18th October, 2011.

I had done a similar painting and given it as a gift. My first exhibition was a few weeks away so I did another one for it. This one turned out a bit neater.

A gift for a friend of mine. I used artistic licence on the colours in the sky and water; the reds and oranges are much more vivid than reality.

Painted on a small board, 10 inches x 8 inches, over 3 days in November, 2010. I like painting sunsets. Sold.

Introduced some florescent red and yellow to my palette to give the corn more of a sunlit brilliance. The view is looking east into the rain and rainy clouds, the sun is setting behind the viewer so there was a strange atmosphere of sunlight and rain. Sold.

It’s painted on a small board so the dabs and strokes of paint expressing illuminated clouds can be clearly seen. Sold.

A small painting, 8 inches by 6 inches of a sunset with the light rapidly dying and twilight creeping in.

My first time trying to capture the sun directly. I like how green the sky is.
This is the first of my views of Garryvoe the place where I live. The view is from one of our fields, the ‘High Field’. I had been wanting to do this view for a few years before getting around to doing it. At the time, it was a very ambitious goal. The sky appealed to me a lot, I like how over in the east and south opposite to where the sun sets, the sky goes purple to a deep blue near the horizon.
Painted from 28th June to 23rd September, 2006.
